GTX 780, is the single fan cooler better?

I'm considering a gtx 780 but looking at the designs which one is better? The single fan looks like it sucks in air then blows it across the heatsink and then it's routed out? Whereas the dual fan coolers just blow air over the heatsink and doesn't really get directed out like the single fan.

Answer maybe obvious since there are a lot more dual fan designs out there just curious still.

The dual fan coolers have heatpipes that help draw heat away from the GPU more quickly. They usually keep temps lower in single GPU situations. In dual GPU situations I have found that a blower card will stay a bit cooler because the heat isn't circulating around the card and is being blown out the back. The difference may not be extremely large in dual gpu setups but the noise is. A custom cooler stays much quieter in most cases.

If your case does not have excellent airflow, I'd recommend the blower-style reference cooler. On the 780, it is an excellent design, originally created for the Titan.
