Gtx 770

Are any of the next generation graphics cards right now and in the future going to be smaller than the GTX 770 or the same size ? This is my current video card and looking for something smaller but with just as much power or more.

970/980 is as good as it gets.Replaced a Zotac 770 Amp! with my 970 and my Asus Strix is nearly the same size, runs cooler by nearly 10cel and has more memory to boot.🙂

These days, its as good as a replacement as one can get.Asus,Gigabyte and Zotac offer all offer cards under 9''.

Because they are last generation and supply is probably low. You can get a used one on eBay or craigslist for around $200.

Yeah, I've seen one locally for as low as $170, but whats strange is 680s are going for more. I was looking for a 680/770 to put in a Mac Pro, and the used prices for NV cards are kinda weird. Everything costs more than it seems it should. Just bought a 280x on eBay for $150 shipped. I guess its because the 960 is slower and is at $200-240, and 970 is around $330-350, so the high ender last gen cards still have a place.

I was even hoping with the 4GB memory issue used 970s would hit the market at a good price, but if any are available they are basically at retail prices.

680/770 may be in demand cause people want to go sli,and the cards as far as i can tell are no longer on the retail market.

I rather have a 680/770 over a 960 any day,so there is that too.🙂

The 960 is the only card out there with full hardware decode of HEVC 4K video. I'm satisfied with my 770 for now, but if I played around more with 4K video I'd trade it for a 960 (especially since I don't do any gaming). HEVC decoding is very CPU-intensive today.
