Hello, you believe worthwhile change a sli gtx 770 2gb (gigabyte oc) for 1 gtx 780 3gb (or sli gtx 780 3gb) to play on a single monitor at 1080p and 60hz games like crysis 3 battlefield 3 and 4, bioshock, hitman absolution, metro 2033 , far cry 3, max payne 3, the witcher 2, batman arkham city, shogun 2 total war, etc.. in the highest quality at a stable 60fps?

The other components of my pc is:

- Intel i5 4670k to 4.4 ghz
- Asus maximus hero vi
- 16gb ddr3 1600mhz
- Samsung 840 SSD 128gb pro
- PSU Lepa G750 80 plus gold

Thank you.

770 sli is faster in some (most) games, but other games the performance becomes slightly more ambiguous. In many CPU limited games, the scaling isn't ideal in SLI and a single card solution may present more smooth gameplay - this especially applies to many MMOs, MOBAs, and other non blockbuster AAA games. Of course the biggest AAA titles will always be SLI supported and SLI will have higher framerates.

Personally, I think i'm done with SLI. It's nice, works great, has great support, and I enjoyed SLI while I used it - but I just prefer having a single GPU as of late. It's all in the eye of the beholder I suppose, depending on what games you play.

Well said Blackened. I thought about one 780, certainly enough gas for most titles. OP, I'm still very pleased with 680 SLI. You're making a multi vs. single gpu choice. You probably know the games that would tax the configs to noticeable variance, most of which have been popular enough for solid [SLI] driver tuning. simply one vs. two.. :)

you will need an oced 4770k to stay above 60fps in Crysis 3 no matter how much gpu power you throw at it. it fact if you were considering spending so much on gpus then you should have gone 4770k instead of 4670k. really I would just go single 770 2gb for that res. all those games only have a setting or two that needs to be turned one notch to achieve 60fps. if you really dont care about spending money then go single gtx780. again though I would also go 4770k if you can.

People never believe me when I saw Crysis 3 is hard to run. My titan had issues keeping it at 60FPS on 1080. OP I would definitely go 770 SLI. I started to get 780s but then decided they weren't worth $200 more each.

sounds like a cpu issue that you had. I run it at 45-50 fps with very high settings except medium shadows with SMAA with just a dinky gtx660 ti and my 2500k at 4.4 hits 95% or more in spots. even completely pegged it one time while I was monitoring. with the right cpu, even a single gtx780 would easily stay above 60 fps on very high settings and SMAA.
