Your Antec 902 shouldn't have any restriction on video card length, although long video cards will make the nearby area unusable for hard disks.

hmmm, you make me think. $300 is really the price point I was trying to stick to. I'd have to look at TDP, as this is going in a system that is by now several years old. It's got an Antec 550W.

EDIT: looks like they "advise" a minimum 600W psu. Which means I could prolly make it happen, but no way I'm spending this much on a card and toss the dice on the psu. Which would mean replacing my current one at a cost of ~100-125, which means I'm now $200 over budget. Thoughts?

Check how much current your PSU can deliver on the 12V+ rail. The 290 will likely not draw than 350W.. Which means it will need something like ~30A. Your 550W will likely be fine though.

Agreed. Some excellent prices there. The PSU I'm running is the mediating factor here, as it's only 550w. It's chugging along, and as far as I can tell would handle the 770 just fine, so upgrading to the 290 adds an additional hundred bucks.

My cpu (sig) is also obviously balls-old, but it's not getting an upgrade for another year. Thanks for the info here, some further mulling over the next couple days is apparently called for.

You have to keep in mind when power supply specs are stated they tend to think a person only shops by watts.

I have a rig running i3-4130, XFX DD 290 on a Capstone 450m. Even under mining load(no longer mine) it had no issues running 24/7. I'm guessing my rig would only draw around 375-400w on full load.

Gigabyte Windforce definitely. You'll get a lot of OCing out of that card because it cools like a champ. The MSI's good too for the price and it's shorter as well if that's a factor for you.

Personally though, I'd go for this instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125500. Gigabyte Windforce R9 290 @ $399. It's MUCH faster than the GTX 770. In fact, it's only a few percent short of being as fast as a reference GTX 780 Ti -- all for $399.

You can also just click on the mult-quote button on each post you want to reply to before clicking the quote. All you'll have to do is make some space between them to put your replies nice and tidy in one posting. You can always click preview post to make sure things look correct before you submit the reply.
