Building a cheap and cheerful pc - will be using an old asus commando motherboard / q6600 at 3ghz (8gb ram) and a Palit fanless gtx 750 ti.

Can I use onboard audio (assuming it has it) - do I need to connect a cable from the motherboard header to the graphics card?

It's been at least 7 years since I was into building PCs, so somewhat behind the times.

This pc will be connected to a 40 inch 1080p Samsung LCD TV.

Hmm, I think I've found a link confirming that the card has an internal HD audio codec so I only need the appropriate NV driver and therefore don't need onboard sound or a separate sound card.

Yeah. At least in Win8 you select the HDMI audio device as the "default" playback device, and it chooses that whenever HDMI is connected.

OK cheers. I'll find out tomorrow (I'll be using Win 8).
