GTX 750Ti, GTX 950 or GTX 960?

Hello everyone!

{ First I'd like to say that I DON'T live in the USA, so the prices here are very high, even when comparing a 950 to a 960, it is a huge step in price. And for this matter the 970 here is absurdly expensive, so the new GPU's are far, far away for me to afford it. }

My old GTX 560 fried and now I'm gonna buy a new one, but I'm at that time that I don't know what to do!

Should I get a 750, 950 or 960? I plan to play games like GTA V, FallOut 4, Battlefield, etc at 60fps or close to that, BUT the only settings I want is 1080p and to run in High or Ultra High texture quality only, I don't care about shadow quality, particles quality, reflection quality, etc.

So will the 750 Ti run these or do I need a 950 or 960?

Thanks in advance!

If you can afford it, better go for the 960. I play GTA 5 at 1080p on my GTX 970 and I wouldn't want anything slower to be honest.

Wouldn't the 950 run at 1080p without AA, shadow quality, etc? Only textures on High or Ultra High?

Of the options you have listed I'm going to recommend the 960, but the 4gb model. 4gb VRAM is what we consider the minimum nowadays.

Well 60fps or close to it it's fine, if it doesn't stutter it's fine, my 560 couldn't even run GTA V in the bare minimum of graphics settings, everything was on low or off, only resolution was 1080p, it ran like 5 fps, I couldn't even walk 2 feet with it!

Also I could in the future buy another 950 and make a SLI with it. Like I said in the OP here everything is expensive and now I'm kinda short of money.

Thanks!

I would not buy the 950 as a result of the 2gb VRAM. You will limit your Texture settings which can drastically increase IQ. And in a worst case scenario hit a VRAM wall causing stutters.

Prices on 970s should be dropping dramatically with the release of the 1070. I'd say wait a month, scrounge up what cash you can, then buy a used 970.

Ok, so how do you explain videos like these?

GTA V on GTX 950 on Ultra settings, getting 50~60 FPS on 1080p, also notice he is recording, so the FPS in the video is not the maximum it can reach because of it.
Also everything on Ultra, and like I said I only care about textures and monitor resolution, so I would disable or set it to low everything else that just eats GPU for a slightly better shadows or reflections or whatever.

2gb will often (not always) still allow you to enable ultra textures in games settings but it does not mean you'll actually see them as intended. Or in other words that they are truly enabled.

Ok so how about a Radeon R7 370? It's almost the same price here, it has 4GB and 256-bits, but I never used a Radeon before.

Does it have the same problems that the AMD processor has in games that I've seen? Like games not working, freezing, etc? Or is just like a NVidia GPU?

There isn't anything wrong with radeon cards they will last just as long as nvidia in similar conditions. But the r7 370 4gb isn't quite as good as 960 4gb but would be better then the 750ti and 950 in most situations. My suggestion would be the r9 380 4gb which is cheaper then 960 4gb in America and is better in most games with the down side being that it uses more power. If you can get it for a similar price to the 960 and have at least a 430w gold power supply (maybe more dependinding how hungry of a proccessor you have) the 380 would be your best bet.

How difficult is it for you to buy parts from outside your country (customs, etc)? I bet you could find someone selling a GTX 970 who'd ship to you.

I'm happy with my 750Ti, but obviously limit yourself to 1080p and do not use ultra settings.

If you fall short of a 4GB 960, then just enjoy a 750Ti.
