GTX 680 can be flashed to a 770

Yeah I don't get why you'd do this its just an over clock are you unlocking any hidden features?
Sorry on phone didn't read the link.

God did i ever hate the gts250/9800gtx cards, they were like a plague that never went away and here we go again with the gtx680/770 assuming this news is true.

Nvidia may very well rattle some cages with this rebrand.

Yep 770 is a rebaged 680.

Not so far, only differnce is now you have a 770 card.
Rumors say Nvidia is doing a rebage of the 680.

ei. 680 = 770.

Does anyone have proof us this? Also, even if it is true, just because GPU is the same and bios' are compatible, doesn't mean the cards are physically identical, I wonder how the GTX 770's cooling/PCB compare, there may be other differences.

2gb of VRAM + GK104 = rebadge and ouch for people who get sidelined by this. The specs are identical besides the boosted clock speeds and memory. ~10% faster than a 680 but will come at price of increased power consumption. This is basically a "GHz edition" of the 680 if you know what I mean. Its just like how the 7970 and 7970ghz stand. If you have a 680 or 7970 no need to upgrade, if you find a better deal on a 680, go for that and maybe flash it if you feel daring. Also, another thing to keep in mind that GPU boost 2.0 very well may be implemented on the 700 series.

In my opinion, the upgraded cooler and PCB would be worth it over the 680 if you are going reference. You also might get limited voltage control like the Titan too.

i preffer AMD HD 7970 GHz and i have brand new architecture with Full DX11 (Dx11.1 DX11.x) and i'm ready for Next-Gen

Where did you see it will be $100 less? I would put my money on it costing exactly the same if not more than the gtx680.

I'd expect it to be priced at 399 like the last few generations 2nd tier card.

Tomshardware had a blurb about expected pricing on April 23rd. 780 will be between 499-599, the 770 at 399, while the 760 is at 299.

I'd expect after the initial launch for prices to settle into the 350ish range like most 670s right now.

It is supposed to be the same price as the 670.

The techpowerup link above says this, and Tom's hardware too.

I doubt that but if true, then my 7970 will be losing it's value real quick! I will either mine with it or sell it.

I wonder what the chances are of a 680 and a 770 being SLI compatible, without bios flashing one to effectively become the other.

Whats the point? The Lightning BIOS is better in every way; well unless they allow overvolting past what the Lightning BIOS allows.

Why do you doubt it? Nvidia for the longest time has had the top tier card at 499 and the 2nd tier card at 399. Given this is a refresh of an existing product. I would be surprised if they deviated in any meaningful way from that pricing this round.

Titan LE (780) at $499 would be ridiculous since Titan costs $1000. GTX 780 will cost at least $700. Honestly, I don't even see them being released on May 23rd. I have my reasons... hint, I work for a well known IT company.

Titan is a one-off like the GTX 590. 780\770\760 are the mainstream high end release cards. I would be really surprised if it is priced at 699.

Did anyone look at the techpowerup link? I am not sure exactly how much weight this holds as being the actual BIOS for the 770. I mean, you can name it anything you want.
