760 for $200 matches the 280x in lots of games. Even beats!

Not even close! 280X > 285 > 280 > 760.

280X is 26% faster than 760 in older titles but in the titles released in the last 6 months this grows to 30-60% faster.

In titles such as FC4, DAI, Shadow of Mordor, Watch Dogs, Alien Isolation, Metro Redux, the 280X mops the floor with the 760. Not to mention most 760's are crippled by 2GB of VRAM only.

The difference between a 280X and 760 in the latest games is staggering, with 280X coming close to a 780, and beating 770. Since 280X > 680 > 670 > 760, your information is simply incorrect.
