GTX 660 vs HD7850 (2GB)

These two are pretty much identical in price although the AMD comes with a much much better free games offer. CPU is 3570K.

The 660 is generally considered a bit better as a card, though it also usually costs more and comes with a much worse games package.

You could always look at the HD 7870's if you really want the game bundle. If the games don't matter then I'd get the GTX 660 over the HD 7850.

I have 2 gtx660s in sli on a FX8320 rig and they are very nice and fast. Great card for 1920x1080.

yes GTX 660 is better than than 7850 but worse than 7870

The 660 is actually very close to the 7870, at 1080p there is very little difference on average. In fact techpowerup has it ahead of the 7870:

The 7870 is definitely better at 1440p, but at 1080p they trade quite evenly from game to game.

I have an EVGA gtx660 sc plus a MSI Twin Frozer OC in SLI so they run a bit faster. However, the stock gtx660 is a "sleeper" for the price. BTW my 660s in sli beat my GTX680 in rig 2 below.

Your opinion is pretty tainted if you're looking at one persons OC on a single card.

It's a silicon lottery, unless they are being binned (e.g. lightnings).

Where are you at that they cost the same? The 7850 is a little cheaper and comes with games you could sell to drop price even more.

The 660 seems to be kinda in between the 7850 and 7870. But the AMD cards come with the games.

Of course it is a silicon lottery.
My point is that the PCB and cooler should not constrain it if you happen to get a good one.

The newegg link that was posted above. All the 7850 2GB on newegg are the same price as that PNY 660.

Also how is nvidia and amd when it comes to 3D? It is not important at all but reason I ask is because I use the PS3 3D monitor as my display and having 3D would be kinda cool.
