I have a ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (GTX660-DC2O-2GD5) and I was thinking of getting a second one and trying SLI.

I was having trouble finding some benchmarks that would tell me how this setup would perform.

Any pointers or advice?

Probably around a GTX770... really depends on what you can get the second card for. Chances are its not a great idea.

Hi All,

I did not want to spend a bunch of money, given how little time I actually spend gaming. I picked up a second GTX 660 (GTX660-DC2O-2GD5) for SLI on eBay for $100 and I'm pretty thrilled the upgrade! So far I have tested BF3, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Portal 1/2 and things all look and play great.

Here are some numbers to compare.

Base System:
Asus P6X58D-E
Intel i7 - 930 at 3.36Ghz
1 x Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler, AC5 paste
2 x CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit at 1600 for 12GB DDR

Case - Corsair Carbide Series 400R
PS: 1 x CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W
C-Drive - Kingston Hyper X 120GB SSD
3 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB - RAID 5

660 SLI is a little faster than GTX 780 in average framerates at 1080p.

Although minimums and frame latency is way higher. Actual playability is probably around a overclocked GTX 680 level.
