GTX 590 vs 1050Ti

Just curious, if you could get the GTX 590 for $100, would you still go for 1050 Ti?

I'm trying to make a decision between the two, and there is no 1050 Ti lower than $150.

I tried searching you-tube and google, but I couldn't find any concrete proof that a GTX 590 is just as fast as a 1050Ti. It "seems" like it is, but no one says it clearly, that I could find.

I don't care about things like size, and power consumption.... They are irrelevant for me. Just raw performance wise, do you think a GTX 590 is just as fast overall?

Oh, and just to make sure we are talking about the same thing, I am referring to 1080p performance off course. These are not high resolution cards.

SLI seems like a drag these days, so I wouldn't want the 590.

It seems like the 590 has an edge, but I think more often than not, the 1050ti is going to be the winner in the real world.

I'd rather look for a Geforce 970 used for ~150. Its too bad they have been artificially inflated like every other card.

1050ti is a great card for the money. I've even used the MSI low profile card with my HTC Vive (out of curiosity) and successfully played games like space pirate trainer and audioshield at the 90fps mark, granted you have to turn down ingame options a fair bit.

1050ti, the GTX 590 is old tech, no DX12 support, no new ports like HDMI 2.0 DP 1.4, loud, high power consumption, used and the 1050ti seems to be faster or just as fast.

According to this http://www.hardwaremax.net/reviews/grafikkarten/1377-test-kfa2-gtx-1050ti-oc?showall=&start=9 the GTX 680 runs Crysis Warhead in 1080p at 65fps, while the 1050ti at 62fps.

I assume the GTX 590 is slightly slower than the GTx 680 or at best equal to it.

All Fermi cards now have DX12 Feature Level 11_0 with Tier 1 Resource Binding as of driver 384.76. Sad thing is, games don't benefit from it. Windows Store games, like Forza 6 and such, require Tier 2 Resource Binding.

Would love to get my hands on a GTX 590, though the 1050 Ti is still a much much better buy.

Also, older cards are far more likely to die, putting you out the cash to purchase...
