Hi everybody, I'm new here (this is my 1st post) and first of all I apologize for my poor English (I'm Italian).

Now to my problem....
I've recently bought a MSI GTX 580 Lightning from a forum user on another forum, but checkinkg with MSI AB, I've seen that core and vram clocks are not as listed on MSI site (832/4200), but are those of standard 580 (722/2004)

WHY???

I tried to set the frequencies manually to 832/2100 with msi AB, but it's not possible, it reverts them to 830/2109, I know I can change frequency only "by steps" but I assume that 832/2100 were elegible frequencies since they are those of the other (not mine :'() lightning. Am I wrong???
Can anybody explain me why AB doesn't allow me to set those frequencies?

I already controlled the switch, it's on standard (not LN2).

How do I solve this problem, somebody told me that I have to flash the bios (but where do I find the right one?), but I don't know how to do, and I'm afraid i can do some serious damage :(.
Is that the only option? And if the answer is "yes that's the only option", can you explain me how to do, step by step and with a simple language (remember I'm not English ;) )

Thanks to all. Bye

The default clock on 580 is 772MHz and the memory clock is 4008MHz.If the frequency is not the advertised one take it to the MSI support.

sorry, my fault, I wrote 722 instead of 772. for the memory clock I know it's 4008 but the value AB reports is always halved (2004).

So you can run it fine at 830/2109(4008mhz) and you're complaining?

well those freq. are very close to those of all other MSI 580 lightning (832/2100), so it's normal it can reach them. But it should use those freq. automatically without any my action via afterburner.

Solved, I posted on MSI forum and it ended up that the previous user of my VGA (i bought it on a forum) flashed the LN2 bios onto the original one.

I flashed again the bios (the correct one) and solved the problem :)
