GTX 580 from GTX 295

I have checked out reviews and seen numbers but none compare directly to the 295.

I want opinions from people who have upgraded from the 295 and use a 2560x1600 monitor.

Cheers.

add ~ 20% for the gtx 580 over gtx 480. minimums should be much better, but overall avg framerate across all games won't be enormously better. small step up overall. there are probably only a handful of people who bought a 295 then went to a single 580, you're much more likely to see those users go to gtx 570 sli instead. even though it's $200 more a single 580, that would be significant enough at least to be worth considering. Also, you can sit on it for a few days and see what 69x0 brings, with any luck they will cause prices on gtx 5x0 to drop.

According to TPU, a GTX580 is on average ~16% faster than a GTX295 at 2560x1600.

Nice one lads.

Remove SLI issues and the 580 looks quite attractive.

I am interested to see what nVidia comes out with dual GPU wise. I can cork it out a few more months.

upg from a 295 to a 580 seems to small to be worth it at its price tag.

14% more fps for 500$?

Unless theres a game you want to play that runs horribly... (which I doubt since the 295 is like a 480), I wouldnt think the price tag justified the increase.
