I recently purchased a gtx 560 ti to upgrade my old system, BIG MISTAKE, as now I have a horrible bottleneck and gaining next to nothing in performance.

Ok here are my system specs:

corsair 650w power supply
Patriot 800mhz ddr2 memory
EP-45-DS3l Gigabyte motherboard (socket 775)
xfx 9800gtx+
e7200 2.53 processor

Looking for some good advice on how to get out of this bottleneck and put my new card to work. If I gut everything but the power supply what are some good recommendations for around $400-$500 to fill the gap.

Would this work?

I thought about that (actually at one time a very big thought) but they're around $289 and I've read that some feel even that processor will slightly bottleneck. So... I've come to the conclusion that I might as well spend just a little more and get the Motherboard, processor, and ram replaced.

Comes out just a little over $400 and if I stepped my ram down it would obviously be even cheaper.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks everyone for your time.

last link is bad.
but looking at the other 2 I assume you went SB i7 or i5..
either one would be perfect.

should be a good build.

Sorry about the link.

And you're correct, it is the Sandy Bridge i5 2500K 3.3 ghz.

Get the I5-2500k really no need for the I7 unless you need it to do heavily multithreaded applications.
