hey guys i have the gtx 560 ti the 1ghz version from gigabyte. how do i lower my clock settings? I have MSI afterburn and evga precision but both of them dont allow me to lower the shader clock. it only allows me to lower memory clock and GPU clock.

Since I want to lower my clock settings to a non oc version of a 560 ti, what would be my settings for the card?

default settings are. 1ghz GPU clock, memory clock is at 2290

Edit: shader clock not sure what that is. I think its at 2000

Is the Shader clock linked to the GPU clock? It should lower as you lower the GPU clock, ideally it should be twice the speed of the GPU on these cards.

so when i lower my clock settings, do i only lower my core clock? or do i also have to lower my memory clock? if so what would my memory clock be, if i want to lower my core clock to 900 or lower

Core and memory are separate settings. I'm not sure why you are lowering clocks, but if it's to save power memory doesn't really use much.

They generally clock down very low when on the desktop anyway, only clocking up when needed.

card has been acting weird. so it was probably over heating, so i wanted to lower the factory OC to something much better.

Heat isn't generally an issue for memory, either. VRM and core heat up the most. Have you tried a good clean out of the card? Coolers do get clogged up after a while. Also TIM can dry up. If you feel comfortable removing and reseating your heat sync it could solve your problem.

Even just pulling the shroud off and hosing it out with compressed air helps... that's what I did with my EVGA 560 and it made a difference. Wipe the fan blades off, too.

Yes. I was thinking more of a 2 step process. Try blowing out the cooler, as you said, and then if that doesn't completely cure it remove and replace the TIM.
