Depends on what you want. I have it, I kick BF3 1900x1200 Ultra with no discernible problems. I love my 480 card.
Third 'fastest' single slot card out there relatively speaking.

Pretty cheap for that ranking IMO although if you don't have BF3 like jlin101 said, the 560TI, as you can see from the card, is just one slot below the 480.

yea, the whole GTX 500 line should have never existed they are all merely iterations of the GTX 480/470... the 680 should have been the 580. pure marketing from Nvidia. been rocking my tri sli 480 hydrocoppers for over 2 years now... they are still CPU limited in many instances on my i7 950 at 4.2... I'll probably hold on to these for atleast a couple of generations with CPU upgrade in the middle at some point...

If I had the cash for either of them right now, heck yes I would. Learned the hard way that Folding@Home with ATI just isn't worth it.

gotta help all these utility companies make some money.
according to Anandtech Bench GPU12, even 470 takes almost 100W more under load than 7850.

Good deal, but the power usage is pretty high compared to 7850 these days.

edit: However, it's also 10% + faster than 7850 according to techpowerup and Anandtech Bench. Note that I had to use gtx 570 instead of gtx 480 in AT bench, but the nvidia card's lead is commanding regardless.
