the fermi "refresh" will probably be on gf100 by giving it the gf 104 slimming treatment. I could see them trying to push out a gtx 475 that is based upon gf 104 sooner, however, especially if they could put that into a 5970 killer.

see guys, this summer isn't so boring after all! glad to see that nvidia finally showed up to the party, in no time we'll all be moaning and groaning again about nvidia's market dominance :)

My GTX470 looks like a worse and worse investment every day.

I don't think any videocard is an 'investment'. If you sell your older videocard, then the cost of the upgrade is not too bad. At the end of the day, you'll upgrade to next gen anyway :). So whether you purchased a GTX470 or a 475 or a 480 wouldn't have made much difference imo.
