GTX 470 Upgrade

Hello All,

Thinking of upgrading my GPU from a GTX 470 to something else. On a bit of a strained budget so anything under $250 would be ideal but wasn't sure if that was possible. I mostly play RTS/Strategy type of games (SC2, D3) and RPGs such as Skyrim, etc.

I was looking at the benchmarks for a GTX 660 and it seems to be a pretty decent upgrade over a 470 but I was trying to read other threads earlier and people were suggesting a 7870 or a GTX 670 instead as a replacement.

CPU is a i7-3770K if anyone was curious (just upgraded to that finally ^^).
 
OP if you can spend a bit more get the sapphire HD 7950 boost as suggested above.

for within 250 get the HD 7870. faster than GTX 660. skyrim in particular with mods is very demanding and runs much faster on HD 7870 . the GTX 660 falls behind even more once you go for higher for AA levels. here is one of the fastest factory overclocked HD 7870 cards.
