Which would be the optimal setup? (I have two choices): Sell my GTX 470(Zotac) for around 150.00 then pay 200.00 for a GTX 570 or I can purchase a 2nd GTX 470 for 200.00(Galaxy).

This is somewhat irrelevant but if I want matching video cards (Zotac) the price will be 230.00 (30.00 more) . I'm mainly intersted in which of the two setups will provide better performance.

Note: These are all 1280MB

Thanks for any suggestions and advice! :D

Two 470s would be faster, since a 570 is only about 20-25% faster than a 470. Adding a second 470 should boost performance about 75%. But they'll need twice the juice and put out twice the heat; you'll need a decent power supply for them.

The GTX 470 SLI rig hands down would smoke the single GTX 570. Of course, as has already been said, you will need a decent PSU to run them.

I got rid of my 470 SLI cards, replaced them with a GTX 580, and haven't missed them. You really don't need the dual GTX 470s for most games at 1920x1200 or less, and at larger resolutions the 1280MB RAM might start to be a problem.

I actually have a second GTX 580 on the way from my EVGA step up from one of the 470s, and I don't think I'm going to keep it. The GTX 580 itself has been enough for everything I've thrown at it. Of course the GTX 570 isn't quite as fast.

If I was looking to get into another dual card setup, I think I'd seriously consider a Radeon HD 6950 Crossfire rig. Pretty blazing performance with enough video RAM to go high rez for $600. Anything less, and I'd just stick with a fast single card.

how much does the step up cost from 470GTX > 580 =o?

Depends on how you paid for the GTX 470... In my case, $205. There was no way I'd get nearly back what I paid for the 470 on ebay or FS/FT when the GTX 500s launched pretty much outta nowhere, so it was my best option.
