I've got a 4770 (non-k) and I'm currently using its onboard graphics. I run linux, and up until very recently, was using the onboard to drive three displays, and I never gamed.
That machine is now pretty much collecting dust, and only runs one monitors. A coworker told me he has an unused GTX 470 and I could have it for $50. This computer is now connected to a single, aging low resolution (< 1080p) display. For $50, it might be worth getting a Windows license and letting my son game a bit.
So the question is this - is it worth spending $50 on this card (plus whatever a windows license will cost) to play some older games?
PS - the power supply is covered.
