GTX 460 and PSU

hi
so last night i brought a gigabyte GTX460 1gb oc 😀
i also brought a OCZ StealthXstream 2 600W
they should be turning up tomorow but im slightly worried about the connections on the psu, will they work with the graphics card?
thanks
oli

Yes...
There's no reason why they wouldn't. Power connectors are standardised, the only potential problem would be not enough PCIe 6-pin connectors, but that one has a 6 pin and 6+2 pin, so it will work fine.

I have the same kind of question with my build. i have the.

Corsair tx650
gtx 460 1g cyclone

The Corsair has two pci express x16 plugs that have 6x2 pins

Do I just take both the PCI express 6 pins from the corsair and leave the 2 pins hanging?

will placing only one 6 pin in the GTX460 make the computer not start up?

The 8-pin connectors are made in a (6+2)-pin way to be able to be used as a 6-pin connector if needed. The other two black cables of the connector are useless in your case.
So there is no problem at all. You have to insert the two PCIe connectors to feed your GTX460.

got it, thanks. the computer turned on, but now there's no video showing up?? I thought I could use the onboard graphics "The 785G does have onboard graphics, which could be useful for troubleshooting, but that's a minor benefit."

I have my gtx460 mini hdmi converting into an hdmi hooked into my dvi monitor... the screen shows nothing, what have I done wrong?

Why don't you just use a DVI cable? Do you have the right input selected on the monitor? The previously mentioned power cables connected?

I bought an OCZ Fa1tality 550W Modular and it is currently running great with my new build (Check components on my signature)... Some people told me it would work fine with a GTX 460 (256 bit version) so that is what I went with.

I was also thinking about these GPUs? Will they work with my current OCZ PSU? I'm not planning to overclock or do crossfire/SLI....

ATI 5830
ATI 5850

Thank-you in advance for suggestions and advice.

I think I jumped the gun on this one guys.

I picked up an ASUS GTX 470 1280MB I saw on AMAZON for $219 after rebate and should be getting it sometime next week.

The specs say reccommended PSU 550W... I just recently bought a 550W in anticipation of a price drop for the ATI 5850 until I saw the GTX 470 deal.

Would my 550W PSU be enough for the GTX 470 and my build if I'm not going to overclock anything?😱
