So I just found this sale... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...507&CatId=3669

Basically its a dual gtx460 gpu on one card. For only 170 bucks, that seems like the absolute best i'll be able to find in that pricing range for the near future. I'd like to get a new graphics card by aug 25th (gw2 releases for those who preordered and my gts250 isnt holding up well), so im wondering if i should spring for that, if the hd 7850 is a better deal, or possibly wait for the gtx660/ti\

For all those who will tell me to spring for the gtx670, I play on a 1920x1080 monitor and from my research, the 7850 will probably be all I need

TL;DR:
gtx460 2win: 170$
hd7850: 250$
wait for gtx660/ti

Thanks all!

Id personally go 7850 over it, but its $75 more

The 460 SLI can still play 1080p just fine though, and is probably the best deal you'll find new.

I can tell you from experience, a 7850 has no problems with 1080p for majority of games maxed.

The Evga 460 2win is sometimes equal to a 570, others just as fast as a 580. On avg somewhere between.
Getting that for 170$ is very good value.

That said.... a 7850 with a overclock can beat a 580 repeatably, without haveing SLI/CF issues, or as some might claim Micro-stutter.
And it ll use less power while doing so.

Its (460 2win) overclocking is really bad, dont expect to get more than a 10-15% overclock with it.
That and it ll use alot more power than a 580 does.

Also the 460 2win powerconsumption is insane! A 590 (which is made of 2x580's) uses less power :p

If you dont plan on overclocking.... the 460 2win is pretty goodvalue.
If you do, and *can* spend abit extra to get a 7850, you ll save back the price differnce on your powerbill's, and have a slightly faster card that doesnt give micro stutter or have issues with SLI/CF profiles.

Personally 7850 > 460 2win, if I had the choice between either.
Id spend 40$ extra and get the cheapo versions of the 7850 from XFX lol.

The 460 2 win is mostly faster than a 580 bud but the card is actually $220 BEFORE "Fail In Rebait". GTX 460 2 win 672 CUDA Cores vs 512 GTX 580. At any rate for $220 the GTX 460 2 win is a great deal of performance and value.

Hate all this false hype surrounding the 7850 The only thing that is great about the 7850 is the OC that is need to justify it's purchase LOL. GTX 460 2 Win is a better buy most defiantly.

GPUs are about playing games not conserving electricity.

This beast of a card uses a ton of power. If you're okay with that, and don't mind the rebate, then by all means.

I had a few issues with the 460 2 win

1 runs a bit warm and it dumps a ton of heat into the case.

I had a fiends 2600k with h80 installed in my haf 932.first 5 mins the cpu would idle at 28c and after a half hour it would be at 39c.

pushing sc2 at max settings 1920X1080

cpu temps idle 26-28c, load 54c with 2 closed blower evga 460's super clocked sli.

cpu temps idle 28-39c, load 81c with 460 2win.

2 when windows boots sometimes it wont display anything and you have to switch the monitor to a different dvi .

Hello Mcfly of coarse the card runs a bit hot it has two GPUs on one PCB LOL even the 28nm GTX 690 runs hot LOL. The other problem is small potatoes for the performance this card chucks out and for the low relative cost.

Just because Dual GPU cards are not the most popular does not mean they are bad just most people can not afford them for starters. You are claiming heat issues with nothing to back your false claims up with not even a link then you go onto telling people to look for themselves LOL just LOL. Also quad SLI scaling is terrible wear as dual SLI is where it is at as far as efficient scaling and cost effectiveness so this card only being able to do 2 way SLI is a smart thing.

Suggest this 7850 2GB instead:

$225 @ Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/VisionTek-Rade...dp/B007KJ1URG/

And, as mentioned above, the 2win card pulls more power than the GTX 580:
http://pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-C...al-GPU-Graphics-Card-Review/Power-Consumption

...which pulls a ton more power than the 7850:
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7850_HD_7870/24.html

If my math skills haven't atrophied away completely, this should mean the 7850 uses ~190W less power at gaming loads than the GTX 460 2win. If you play for 2 hours every day and pay $0.10/kwh you'd be looking at a savings of ~$14/year. If you play substantially more than that the savings go up quickly.

Plus, honestly - the 7850 is a much better card, has 2GB video RAM buffer (versus 1GB on the 2win card) and there will be no issues with microstutter or any other sli problems.
