Noise is not a factor because I play on headphones (noise canceling) all the time anyways so that I dont bother my fammily.
I don't want to go with a DDR3 platform because I dont want to shell out money for DDR3.. I think Ill be fine with this setup I mean the only games in last two years that had issues on this system have been GTA4 and Crysis.. I did look at i7 benchmarks and mostly it would seem Core i7 940 is on par with Q9650.. and above 920 almost all the time..
Upgrades I'll be getting (hopefully) on Wednesday are:

eVGA e-GeForce GTX 295
