OP do you think the Thermalright 120 ultra extreme would have fit that way (horizontally) if you were using 6 Corsair Dominator dimms?

Zap beat me to it in regards to the amps on the PSU unit. If you are running 2-3 powerful GPUs, they really start to tax the available amps on the rail. My 750 was struggling to provide enough amps to my 2 GTX 260s when they were overclocked (albeit considerably), but just managed at stock. The overall power wasn't getting anywhere close to 750w, but the PSU was struggling nonetheless. So the lesson is to pay attention to the amp needs AND the wattage needs and try to get a PSU that will be efficient with the expected load you will be placing it on.

Good question. No it wouldn't have. Interference in the first memory slot with dimms as tall as the Dominators.

I've traditionally mounted my TRUE running vertically but due to interference with a 120mm fan installed in my case window, I had to mount this way. Also had to mount it's fan on top. Unusual but it still kicks butt! It's lapped too..

Very nice! Clean build with that 1200, i7 and 285s. :) I'm thinking about swapping to a 285 now that it seems GT212 and 40nm isn't happening anytime soon.

As for the side fan interfering with the TRUE, did you try altering the fan itself with a dremel or a pair of snips?

Fan Cut pic

I'm able to mount my TRUE vertically (fans blow horizontal) by cutting that corner, worked for my Tuniq Tower as well in both a 900 and 1200. Lapped TRUE + lapped IHS is great though, although the stock mounting mechanism doesn't offer nearly enough pressure imo.

Hmm, I thought about taking a corner off the fan, nice to know it'll fit that way, thanks!

One neat mod I did do.. cut an exaust vent for a third card. I'm running three 285's now.. :)
