That review makes it look really bad.

I don't know what games they were using, but the 4870x2 was 30% faster. :Q

Thats just a GTX280 OCed at the supposed GTX285 clocks.

What do you think this means on their test setup page ;)

Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 (648/1.476/1.242), 1.024 MB (simuliert durch Übertakten der GeForce GTX 280)

edit - tbh, im more interested in the power/thermal figures then the performance, since the performance can already be had by overclocked models of the GTX280.

I'd say, this is a nice card after all. It has lower power consumption and a good oc that makes it 10% faster then the old GTX. If it's going to be priced correctly, then we shouldn't complain about it.

I think you may be thinking of the wrong card :)

You are thinking of GTX 295 with 2 gpu. This GTX 285 is a overclocked GTX 280 on smaller fab process.

The 4870 X2 is a multi-GPU solution and will be more expensive, a slightly OCed GTX 280 isn't going to be able to beat it.

The GTX 295 will be coming in at roughly the same price point as the 4870 X2 and will be faster most of the time.

The most interesting thing about the GTX 285 will be how it overclocks, unfortunately this review doesn't tell us anything about that since it simulates the 285 using a 65nm 280.
