GTX 260 or worth the upgrade to 275?

here is the deal, I received a giftcard of $200.00 to best buy which gives me limited choices for video card options but I am looking to pick up one of the two. The BFG GTX 260 is $199.99 so it would cost me nothing (except tax) and the BFG GTX 275 is $259.99 so it would be around $80.00 after taxes. Is it worth it to get the 275 or will the 260 do?

260 Model: BFGRGTX260MC896OCDE

275 Model: BFGRGTX275896OCE

Here is a little more info if it will help. I am piecing together a new PC and have the MB, CPU and RAM on order, so the Vid Card is the last purchase. Just FYI, I am going to be running an i7 920 with 6GB RAM on Windows 7 (RC for now and officially when launched). I am currently running an old azz rig (P4 with an ancient GeForce Ti4600 series card) and my PC is feels like a mule doing most of the current tasks. I don't plan to do a ton of gaming (I have never even played Cyrsis but would be interested) mostly a lot of HD encoding. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

The GPU is the most important component for gaming, but if you don't plan to game too much than I'd say no.

Most GTX 275 reviews here have a GTX 260 for comparison as well:

So it's maybe 7-13% faster for 30% more price. Big gamers will justify that because the extra 10% can make a decisive difference at max settings, but for your case I'd say no. If anything put that $60 toward getting a couple PC games. ;)

No, not by a long shot. Instead of a 275 I'd recommend a HD4890.

But a 260 would do fine for what you're intending to do anyway.

For everyone saying 4890...I don't think you can get it at Bestbuy (his OP says he has a bestbuy giftcard in case people didn't read it).
