Really want an 8gb graphics card and I found this EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent Gaming Graphics Card at $429 at B&H. Other then the silent part what is the difference in performance of the other varieties of this EVGA card. It doesn't say how long the offer last but I'm thinking I should jump on it. Seems like a good deal. Your opinions?

EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent Gaming

The other varieties are
FTW2 GAMING, GAMING, SC GAMING

Are you good with used? I have seen a few go for about $300 recently.

I honestly would not spend that much right now with the announcement in 5 days. Prices will only drop.

I'm ok with used as long is it wasnt overclocked to much. Probably should wait a bit though as you say.

8/20 is only 5 days away, I'd wait. Even if you don't decide to get one of the new cards there should be deals on the old models and possibly a flood of used cards from upgraders.

Also, cryptocoin prices continue to slide towards oblivion, so miners have less and less reason to drive up prices.

Yea good call, I'm flying X Plane II and its recommendation is a 1080 and 32 gigs ram. I've got a crappy old 2gig GTX 760? and its was playing ok with lower settings but with X Plane its all about the beautiful graphics as it can use real ortho-photo scenery but I needs massive GPU upgrade for that.

Thanks for all the help.

Amazon has an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 for $429 right now so if the new cards drop on the 20th prices should dive down again.:D

Be advised the EVGA Ultra Silent card is triple wide, so you will need quite a bit of space for it. I was able to shoe-horn mine into a Silverstone SG13B case, but had to take the backplate off for it to fit.

Was thinking as the card I want is just a stopgap card I could get an AMD and throw them some money.
RX 580 is like $200+ now at a few places I just need a card with as much graphics ram, 8 minimum.
