Hello everyone!

I'm currently running a Zotac 1070 with an i5 8400 build. i'm trying to overclock my card as much as i can because who wouldnt want the extra juice right? The problem i'm running into is that i'm not reaching the same overclocks as others with the same card. I understand the type of memory used in the card is important but it wont take more than +50 and +50. i havent tried playing with the voltage because i'm not entirely sure exactly how and i don't want to damage my card by trying something i dont understand. ( with help i will ) Has anyone else here run into the same problem? Please help

Thank you all for reading and for your advice

If a
You are never guaranteed any overclocks...
i understand that but maybe there is something i can do like maybe play with the voltage perhaps.. Maybe im just being dumb and my card is just not capable but if i can squeeze a little more out of it i have an overkill 1000w gold+ from corsair ( i would have gone with a 650 but this one was a gift)

Get GPU-Z and figure out who makes the memory. Your core clock may be topped out at +50. For example, 2050 MHz for me is +125 with a silent fan curve. 100% fan speed means +100 can essentially get the same clockspeed.

In MSI Afterburner, check your Core Voltage % slider. I have to put it to 100% on my overclock, or else the core throttles. My Power Limit is set to 126%, which is pretty useless, but it looks cool.

Some Micron overclocks I have seen are about +400 Mhz. The Samsung cards can do up to +600 and beyond. I do +700 (9.4 GHz). +400 equates to 8.8 GHz which isn't terrible.

I am sure some Micron and Samsung memory has even better or worse overclocking potential, but I have only gotten to use a handful of 1060's and 1070's for overclocking.
