GTX 1070 and Samsung KU6300 on and off flicker

So I got a Samsung KU6300 for my office. I have this annoying issue when in UHD mode. I have to turn on UHD mode in the TV as it's the only way I can do 4:4:4 chroma @ 60hz from my GTX1070. I have a monoprice 18gig HDMI cable but randomly the screen will flicker on and off like it loses video signal for half a second. If I turn off UHD mode and set my card to 4:2:2 chroma @ 30Hz it's fine.

Is it the cable?

Well in case anyone cares it was the cable. I ordered a different 18gig cable from monoprice which is active and it's the same that's on my living room TV and no issues. Guess now I know why it's double the cost of the original one I got.
