I have the LG 27UD69P. I just upgraded from my GTX 970 to 1070. Now my refresh rate is capped at 30Hz. Both my monitor and the graphics card supports HDMI 2.0. I tried two different cables including the one that came with the monitor.

Have you tried a DisplayPort cable yet? Says your monitor has 1 DP.

My only guess is this could be some strange Nvidia freesync compatability issue? No idea...

If your LG 27UD69P is like 27UD68 I had (and I suspect that it is), you need to enable "HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color" in the settings. Check your settings to see what it's set to and enable it if it's not.

Try to shut off the screen from the power and turn on again while connected.

This did the trick! Thanks!
I should've searched for 27UD68 when googling for a solution since that monitor has been around much longer and is pretty much the same thing.

Yeah, took me a while to get it working myself. I found it by trial and error. I then went back and there is actually a very fine print note in the middle of a 60 page manual that says this option must be on in order for HDMI to work at 60Hz, I have no idea why that option is not on by default.

Awesome! I had the same problem with 1070 and a Samsung UE58MU6125. Could not set refresh rate higher than 30 Hz on other resolution than "standard for monitor". After enabling "HDMI UHD color" I can now go up to 60Hz on all resolutions. 6K included! Awesome! ;)

So this is the "Secret Sauce" that I've been missing all this time, trying to get NVidia cards like the GTX 1050 and GTX 1060 to work with my HDMI2.0 4K UHD screen, to get full color / chroma sub-sampling at 4K60?
