Keep your eyes open in the FS/FT forum. You may see one/some pop up there in the near future.

well sapphire didn't know it was going to be in such a high demand. But i think they will increase production and try to sell as many before end of this year. Not even stores knew it was going to top selling card me think so they wouldn't have overstocked it like they would have done if it was 7600gt.

Very well, it's pretty much a X850XT PE with 4 of the pipelines turned off in the BIOS. All you have to do is flash it and OC and BAM! X850XT PE.

I doubt it. Isn't/wasn't the GTO2 supposed to be a temporary solution? They're basically using X850XT parts meaning they could have an excess of those parts and or a lack of parts for an ordinary GT/GTO in order to meet the demand for that end.

why bother with obselete technology.

dude the reason these cards are cheap is because their built on "seconds" - 480's that are faulty so they tweaked them just to make some money. it's a disgusiting practice.

So is the wheel, but we use it everyday. :)

Sure but how will the person who buys a GTO today feel when in a months time games that run best on cards that support Pixel Shader 3.0 are released, and their cheap and nasty GTO's won't run them in the quality they were intended to be played? Ripped off? Unhappy? You bet!

Are you on crack? How are these chips faulty? There is a 100% success rate of unlocking!

Probably not so bad considering how much shader 3 is based on pure hype and marketing.

oh and selling failed 480's with PS2.0 as a new video card isn't hype and lies?

ps 3.0 is not hype. Run Far Cry with the newest ps 3.0 patch. Run AOE III on a ps 2.0 then on a ps 3.0 card and tell me you see no difference.

GTO2 is a very good deal,
but i wonder how long it can last, arent ATI just getting rid of excess x850 to make way for r520 gpus?

I think that's why the 520's are delayed.

ATI getting rid of obselete stock now, clearly they have lot of it. Once the 520's are released who's going to buy a card based on 480 technology?

Actually who do people pay full price now on cards based on 480 technology anway? LOL

I play at 1280x1024 because my monitor doesn't display 1600x1200 any higher then 60hz (it's murder to my eyes), I'm on a tight buget and I went from a X800Pro AGP to a GF:5750 PCI-E sinc I ran short on cash when bulding my new system.

I decided to wait for the X1k cards but now that I saw they really arn't worth putting up with this crappy card for another month, I'm upgrading to what I can afford now and see how things play out in the next four months.

I Don't give a flying **** what that card can or can not do in the future. I need something better for NOW.

Edit: didn't want to seem like an arse, just in a bad mood and need some sleep.

Talk about un/misinformed... ubergeekmeister, the GPUs on the GTO2 cards are not defective parts, they are overstock and Sapphire is building cards based on them to minimize their losses. And happily for me, I don't play any games that are PS3 dependent for a pleasant, immersive gaming experience. Also, like SketchMaster, my LCD maxes out at 1280x1024 so there is no need for the super dooper high end in my system. This GTO2 and a PhysX card are going to be fine for at least a year the way I use my computer.

After a year, who knows. I'll be ready to upgrade again at that time.
