GTI Racing and catalyst 6.8.. anyone else having problems?

Hey all.. So I just got GTI Racing and I have been having a hell of a time getting it to "look" right.

I'm using Catalyst 6.8 with a x1900xtx.

basically.. I have tried just about every possible configuration.. both forcing AA/AF and letting the application choose.. and I've played with every other setting I can think of too. The game always looks bad. The textures for the cars themselves are always blanked out unless I enabled 'alternate pixel center' in the API specific section of the CCC. And then when I do that there is severe light overexposure and a line vertical line right in the middle of the screen. The brightness just shoots up to all hell.

I'm pretty sure the game itself has a problem with the drivers and it will be fixed in 6.9 or something.. But just wondering if anyone else has a problem with this game ?

If you do not have any problems and are also using catalyst 6.8, please let me know your driver settings and anything else you think might help.

All my other games look perfect right now. just this one is giving me a hard time and since it JUST got released.. I guess it wouldn't surprised me if it was just incompatible
 
meh.. i spent too much time getting this to work

anyway.. I wiped the 6.8s.. completely.. and then reinstalled only the WDMs and display drivers.. f**k that CCC. Then I installed AtiTool 0.24 beta 15 again (i was using it before but it wasn't working too well.. conflicts of some sort were affecting it).

Now that I have it installed WITHOUT the CCC it is running fantastically. And I can now use the 'driver tweaks' in AtiTool which I wasn't able to play with before.. likely because CCC didn't want to share those attributes openly.

The game was still looking garbled but through trial and error I identified that it's the Adaptive AA that GTI Racing doesn't like. After I disabled that I was able to enable everything else and the game runs perfect now and quite beautifully I must say. Enabling all the driver tweaks really makes a nice difference

 
What you have done is what I started doing back about Catalyst 6.5. I got rid of that layered, bloated CCC, and recovered my old ATI Control Panel. All the new Catalyst drivers work perfectly well with CP, and I find it more useful than CCC. Too much crap and layers in CCC.

Once you get CP installed, then leave it alone, and only download the plain Catalyst drivers. They set up just fine that way, and CP is there when you need it.

No probs with 6.8.
 
ya.. although i'm not even using the old CP. I'm only using atitool to control all my driver settings

there's just one thing though that I don't know how to set anymore.. And I'm in no rush to use it but one day I will need to.. that's the TV-OUT.. is there any way to trigger tv-out without having either the CCC or ati CP installed ? atitool obviously lacks that functionality =\
