Product Description: G-TECH is designed to make a professional test driver out of anybody. All you have to do is plug it in a cigarette lighter, mount it to the windshield and start accelerating. G-TECH/Pro does the rest automatically and displays the results. It`s a great way to get performance and safety information about you car.

All the measurements are performed automatically. All you have to do is push the button indicating to G-TECH/Pro that you are ready and then G-TECH/Pro will zero-out and display -GO-. Then simply start accelerating. G-TECH/Pro will know your speed and distance at any given moment and stop the measurement at 60 mph or 1/4 mile point.

i think that's the old one from 94... they can be had on ebay for about $30... still cool though

It's definitely the old one, but still pretty useful for basic perfomance comparisons. Haven't used mine in years though.

No, the main reason being that they are 1-axis.

If they arent level they read wrong, well its hard to get it perfectly level, and your car squats under hard acceleration, so its just not going to be perfect. They are fairly good. Precise to within .1 or .2 seconds and 1-3 mph, however they are not that accurate (look up the defs if you dont understand that)

However, run it at the track a few times and you will learn what your units offset is from actual times measured at the track and then you have a fairly accurate piece. Remains good if you make some mild mods. If you add a twin turbo kit to your 5.7L engine, you will have to go back at the track and get the units offset again.

Owner of the original gtech Worked well on my friends mustang (14's) to mine (mid 10's @ 135)

3-axis is the way to go for easy setup. I missed the tree more than once trying to futz with the gtech to get it setup for the run. My best advice is to get to the line fast, and setup while the other guy stages.
