My father has looked into 1 of these small things to boost our cars power by a bit and also the economy, we come across this one which you can choose between power and economy. It ir pretty cheap (£45) and i dought it will give my dads Citroen C4 1.6 Petrol a big boost but it something. It is still a maybe but here is a part that he is liking, it claims to pass the info from the OBD2 port over bluetooth to my android, but it says it requires professional instalation, I thought it would plug an play into the port. What do you think

To install the Stage 1 chip why don't you read the site?

For the installation you must locate 2 wires in your engine bay feeding signal to the ECU. Our chip comes with step by step instructions on how to find these two wires.

So it's not via bluetooth, and good luck getting more than a couple of horsepower extra out of your Citroen... so not enough to notice the difference.

For example superchips claim a massive +6 BHP for the Citroen 1.6 petrol.

As for the Torque app, its cool, I'm sure that several people here have it. Good if you want to see how things are running or check a fault code. It does run over bluetooth.

All the best :)

I had full knowledge about the chip not being bluetooth. Must have muddled my sentences up. What about fuel economy? Would it increase if set to economicall

It has been seened to add about 10hp and 10nm of torque. And sometimes more than 6mpg which would help with city driving etc

Sounds like the old resistor scam to me...

They sell electric superchargers...

the only real power increase you will see is a real tune or piggyback; this is the same engine in 2007+ MINI Coopers. . In the US we have the option of an Accessport for about $800 USD. Not sure that it would work in a Citreon though, I do not think that you use MAF over there.

And what kind of thing does the resisitor do. There are cases of it working and that just muffles my head

I think they are a joke and you should save your money, in case it was not clear.

Yeah i agree with that now, after a bit of checking around the web i see all it does is fool the ecu into thinking it needs more fuel, which in turn remains unburned. Are there any personal opinions on the bluetooth torque thing? they seem really good

The Torque app works well, but it just lets you see the engine parameters, and reset fault codes. You can't tune with it.

should work, but some of the cheaper ones have issues with dropping data every few seconds.

i have a plx kiwi bluetooth and it works perfectly. but many people have had success with cheaper ones as well.
