GTAV Game Play trailer

Have they officially announced GTA5 for PC?

I hope they figure out how to optimize their engine for PC, MP3 was a good start.

I haven't played a lot of GTA over the years but I'm looking forward to this. Rockstar is one of the very few companies that could pull off something so ambitious.

I must be living in a hole. I knew it was coming but I had no idea of the magnitude of their new project.. aka GTV5. I think my jaw hit the floor about 10 times watching that. Now if only we could get a PC release date.

That looks kick-ass, but no PC logo at the end... we'll likely wait a year before a PC port comes out. Damn consoles!

This is probably the first game to ever make me even think about getting a console.... but, we all know it's coming to PC after the console launch so there's that.

I forget the specifics but rockstar did not do that game themselves on the PC. Someone else was contracted and did a poor job.

Keep in mind Rockstar has something like a dozen different studios. The PC version of GTA 4 was, in fact, made by Rockstar; but not their main GTA studio (Rockstar North). Rather, the PC version was done by Rockstar Toronto. And indeed, they did a piss-poor job.

Meanwhile, Rockstar Vancouver developed the PC version of Max Payne 3, and that was a phenomenal PC port. It was a great PC game period. If R* Vancouver makes the PC version of GTA V and not R* Toronto then I'd say there's some hope.

The irony is... since PS4 and XboxOne are coming out... if someone were to buy a console for this game it would be silly to buy the older consoles... unless it was dirt cheap and even then.

Bad news, RS Vancouver got shut down and split to RS San Diego and RS Toronto.

Rockstar officially said its not coming to PC at all. You would think if it was they should just said nothing or "evaluating options" like more PR people do.

There is a 150k signature petition to bring it to the PC, and I doubt that effort would have been started if there wasn't a need. The only real info I can find is a 11/2012 Tech Powerup piece discussing R*'s statement that there will not be a PC version at launch, and a comment to an online discussion from an R* rep who stated that they had no details to share about a PC version.

Then there are a bunch of sites hanging their hopes on a recent job posting by R* for a PC developer. But who knows what that is really about?

From what I've read it doesn't sound good for the PC, which is too bad. Probably after a year or two they will port it over to monetize it some more on Steam.

I'm surprised these aren't next gen titles. I dont want to waste my time with the PS3 version. GTA4 ran at like 20 fps...
