Sources close to Rockstar North have told Eurogamer that downloadable Grand Theft Auto IV content is on track for a late November release.

Parent company Take-Two previously changed the date from autumn to some time between November 2008 and January 2009 - leaving our stockings at risk of being empty.

The content, which is "absolutely exclusive" to Xbox 360, will be made up of at least two episodes around 10 hours in length, complete with extra unlockable Achievements. Speculation on what form it will take has ranged from additional cities to developed side-missions with brand new stories to unravel. There's been no mention of what all this will cost.

However, the exclusive episodic deal is said to have cost Microsoft around USD 50 million. The company took great trouble to make sure everybody knew about the content in the run up to Grand Theft Auto IV's April release.

Rather a lot of money, considering Grand Theft Auto IV purports to be among the most expensive game created at an estimated total of USD 100 million.

Still, with 10/10 from Eurogamer and over 6 million sales around the world so far, that all seems like money very well spent.

With all the games coming up in November, I'm left wondering if that is a bad time to be releasing DLC. GTA IV is still in the top 5 of games played on Live though so there will likely still be enough interest for this.

If they're $10 or less, I'd consider it. Probably not unless they kick ass.

I'd definitely check it out assuming it's worthwhile. I got bored pretty quickly when I finished the story and most of the worthwhile extras. I have no interest in roaming the streets in search of flying rats and I can only launch cars or kill my friends online for so long.

I wonder if they will be released for PC, many times exclusive only means exclusive for consoles.

Hopefully the inevitable GTA V will rework the formula and reboot the series almost completely, the series has lost almost all of its momentum, it was pretty impressive back in 2001 but now in 2008 it's not that great and those 10/10 reviews were just bribes and you guys know it, I'm a huge GTA fan and I like GTA IV a lot but it's not a 10/10 game, especially not in publications like IGN and Gamespot that rarely give out tens.

GTA IV kind of did that, but in doing so it pissed off a lot of people.
