GTA4...will it be better on PS3 or Xbox360?

I thought the PS3 version was going to have exclusive content too?

In any event, I'd buy the 360 version because 360 controller > DualAxis 6.

Yeah but DualAxis 10 > the 360 controller.

There may be something exclusive, but I haven't read about it. Does anyone have a link?

If PS3-exclusive content exists, it hasn't been publicized as much as whatever content brought on Rockstar's big payday from MS.

I still question the wisdom in paying $50 million for exclusive content for a game that cost a fraction of that to develop in the first place.

Something tells me they might have been able to get a better deal than that, if I dunno, they had half as much brains as they do money.

Or rockstar REALLY knows how to play hardball.

I hate exclusive content, if the game only goes on one system, great do it. If it's on multiple systems all your doing is pissing off people who don't have the system. One of the reasons I have held off so long on getting an Xbox360 or PS3, I don't like getting screwed on content because I bought one system and not the other.

So your answer is to buy nothing at all?

Pretty much, I play PC games that's about it.

I don't know... blockbuster games have monster budgets these days. Maybe not $50 million, but knocking on the door. Anyway, it does seem like a hefty fee, doesn't it.

I think regardless of which system it's on, the "exclusive" content will make it to all of the versions eventually.

So far every cross-platform game has looked and performed better on the 360 than on the PS3, right? I would think we will likely see more of the same with GTA IV.

But you don't know how much Microsoft is going to charge for that extra content. Maybe a 100 mini missions at $4.99 apiece. They could try to milk every owner of GTA 4 for an extra $500. Then they won't look so stupid, greedy maybe, but not stupid.

I'll just be patient and wait for the PC version and get thousands of mods for free.

I thought the $50 million was just an advance on the revenues they expect from the sale of the episodic content? So it's revenue that Rockstar would have gotten eventually when people bought the content, Microsoft just gave it to them ahead of time.

Yeah basically that is what they did. It is supposed to be 10 hours of content and you can bet it won't be cheap.

On what are you basing your assumption?

If you are guessing at some future deal being made, then grand. But as of right now I don't think MS ponied up $50M for "exclusive content" that will be released elsewhere.

Oh, believe me, I wasn't sponsoring the agreement. I'm not "in the know" enough to support or defend the viability of these massive deals that go down. I'm just bringing it up because, for the purposes of this thread, all that really matters to the end user of GTA4 is which system has what content.
