Changes-

- Exception error after blue Rockstar load screen fixed.

- Error loading saved games fixed.

- Mouse sensitivity now saved with other settings (no changes made to existing settings).

- Option for user to play audio files directly from hard disk. Copy the contents of the PLAY discs Audio directory into your installed Grand Theft Auto III Audio directory. Grand Theft Auto III still requires the presence of the PLAY disc when started. This may give better performance on some machines (though worse on others).

- All protection checks (apart from needing PLAY disc to start) removed. Grand Theft Auto III still checks for the presence of the PLAY disc when initially started, and plays audio from the PLAY disc if not found on the hard disk (see above).

This patch is crap, it dose nothing for speed. How can you guy's say this game is fine when you cant even run it in 1024x768 on a bad ass system?

I agree. It runs great until it starts to rain though :( then my framerate goes to hell ...

I don't understand the performance complaints... as soon as I applied one of the non-CD cracks all my performance issues with the game disappeared and I'm able to play it perfectly fine at 1024x768 w/max details.

As for the patch, it doesnt seem worth bothering with if the game runs fine already.
Though the fact that it no longer periodically checks for the CD while the game is running may well improve performance for some, and the ability to play the audi from the HDDrather then the CD could have a decent performance impact also.

I don't know what you're talking about, but I've been playing it with 1024x768x32 for a long time now and it's been fine!

I'm gettin 30fps normal 20-25 during the rain but I'm running a 1280x1024x32 I hope this patch helps with my audio problem everytime it rains my sound gets really messed up it's sounds like I'm getting feedback from my mic but I don't have a mic attached to the system very strange
