My 11 year old has been bugging me to play GTA3. Are there any parental settings in the PC version to "tone down" some of the action?
I hear there`s prosituites and the like to deal with.
Thanks

I'm not sure that there are, maybe someone else can say for sure... the whole game is 'sinful' (prostitutes, crime, etc). I think the thought of 'Parental Controls' in GTA III is an oxymoron if ever there was one.

Uh...the hookers are the LEAST of the problems, cuz you don't have to pick them up. Considering that the whole point of the game is to advance thru the criminal underworld by doing jobs for various mob bosses like assassainating people and perpetrating mayhem on the city by stealing cars, etc., it is NOT A GAME FOR YOUNG KIDS!!!!

It's an excellent game and I've been having a blast with it for the last couple of months, BUT when you can shoot people's limbs and heads off with guns and blood sprays all over, you can run drug dealers down and take their money, etc., you can see why it earned (and that there's a reason for) it's M-MATURE rating.

Compared to everything else, the hookers are NOTHING. If you're low on health, you can pick up one of the girls, park in a dark place and the car starts rocking and you get health back. There's absolutely no nudity and no actual sex is shown, it's all implied, so it's actually tame compared to the graphic slaughter that the rest of the game.

I don't have kids, but I'd feel a bit creeped out about anyone under 14 playing it. A HS frosh should be able to recognize it for the outlandish vacation in amorality it is, but younger....I dunno.

Congrats on being a concerned enough parent to check into what your kid wants to play and good luck in keeping him from not wanting it even more when you tell him he's too young!:)

Yeah.....my 12 year old nephew was bugging me to let him play my copy. I guess he finally got tired of hearing "No way" since he hasn't asked in a while...
