GTA San Andreas

so i got this game over the weekend and i thought i was going to enjoy it a lot until i actually started playing and the outdated graphics got to me.

i've heard people talking about installing high-res models and texture mods. to the people that have this game and have tried the high res packs, can you recommend me one?

i also heard about how there is a thriving multiplayer community for this game, and it's either MTA or SAMP. MTA sounds like the one to try, correct?

yea i'm sure it was fine back then, but after playing GTA4, its hard to be satisfied with SA's graphics.

Stop being a graphics whore and just play though it. The graphics really aren't that bad.. The graphics might be a lot better in GTA4, but GTA:SA has a lot more features and a much bigger map. The story is also much deeper and overall better.

i still play san andreas time to time
it was the most fun in my opinion and the graphics didn't get in the way of it
I played SC:BW for 10 years and it never bothered me

A few weeks ago I had to take a business trip for a week. I bought a laptop a few months ago with a single core AMD with HD4250 graphics onboard for $299. I needed something to play at night in the hotel (middle of nowhere) and instantly thought of San Andreas, one of the greatest games ever made. I know what you mean about playing GTA4 and then SA but you have to trust me, play it for a little bit and you'll forget about the graphics. The story and gameplay make up for it, bigtime.

minmaster, or anyone else. Do you know how to install the SA Retextured pack with a Steam install? Someone said on the mod page that it won't work with Steam but someone chimed in and said it would. I Googled with no luck on how to get it to work. I'm downloading it now so I haven't tried but if anyone knows I'd greatly appreciate it.

i downloaded that but i haven't installed it after reading how ppl with steam version had issues w/ it.

you're welcomed to be the guinea pig.
