This game is getting up there in age (8 years!), i've read it has compatibility issues with Windows 7, maybe 64 bit. Anyone successfully played it on Win7?

Also there are a few graphic packs out there. ENB seems to be the most popular. I don't want any motion blur but it looks like it's very customizable so I think you can pick and choose what parts of it you want to use. Anyone have experience using graphic packs in GTA:SA?

Thanks :) - Remember loving GTA:SA, the world is so friggin huge.

Top 3 game of all-time for me. I had no issue playing it on Win7 64 bit on 2 machines.

Yep, easily one of the best games of all time. I've never thought of customizing SA though i've experimented with GTA IV so much that i don't even know what mods i have on.
Will try a re-play of SA with some good mods. Are there any good texture packs? ENB would mean nothing without good texture packs.

All the graphic packs I could find seem to all be vehicle related. Saw one to make the water look better, too. If anyone finds any graphic packs that look good post em here.

If somebody finds some nice texture packs, I will also give this game a play thru.

Hey just bumping this thread up. I'm having apparent issues with FPS (its becomes a slideshow at points). My setup:
Win 7 64 bit
Q9400 (stock)
GTX 460
4 GB RAM

Didn't expect any problems with this game given its age. I've played much more current demanding games flawlessly. I turned off the "frame limiter" in options and forced V-Sync via Nvidia control panel for just this game. Things seemed to improve for a bit, but the slowdowns appeared to start again.

Anybody have suggestions to help a guy out?

Thanks!

I would think your hardware would run this easily, that being said...I have never played the game.

I was going to give it a whirl if there is some texture packs.

Finally got around to installing the game. I found this HD mod here, but the instructions were in Spanish. I translated them, and still the instructions made little sense. I'm not sure how to install that. So I went and tried the ENB graphics mod which was easy to install but also terribad. It was just a complete blurry mess, probably compatibility issues. So that had to go.

Rikintosh's HD mod looks pretty slick but I don't know how to install it because of the bad instructions. Was anyone able to use that one?

Win 7 64 bit at 1600x900 no problems.

Loved the game but only got to the part when you were supposed to hijack that plane midair near the end somewhere. My savegame did not work with the Steam version. Last I loaded it up I realized how much of a graphics whore I'd become and went on to play IV for my first time instead of looking for a mod.
