Looks like I'm one of the fortunate ones to have GTA IV up and running on my system. I am running it with medium textures at 1600x1200, gets 42FPS in the benchmark.

specs:
cpu q9450
4GB ram
radeon 4870
Vista 64 ultimate

So anyway I fired up the multiplayer last night for the first time. Turned out to be one of the better gaming experiences I've had this year.

At first I tried the team deathmatch. That was OK, but it wasn't really any different from team deathmatch in the other games I've played. Basically a chaotic twitchfest. It's fun for a little bit but I found myself bored with it pretty quickly.

So then I tried out the "free mode" where you and other players basically have the whole city to mess around with and do whatever you want. We all teamed up and started fighting the police. I rode around gunning while someone else drove a car.. that was fun with all the cops chasing us. So I went over to the airport and got a helicopter. I loved flying the choppers in the previous GTA game so I'm a pretty decent GTA pilot. Went and found where the other players were, set her down and everyone else jumped in - then the fun began. I took her down low along the streets and angled the ship so that the gunners had good shots. LOL what a blast! I could see them all blazing away at the police cars. I was laughing like crazy and quoting the crazy helicopter gunner from Full Metal Jacket:

"How could you shoot women, and children?"
"Easy! You just don't lead them so much! Ain't war hell! haha!"

Co-op is way more fun than deathmatch. I'll be getting left4dead for Christmas, that should be a blast too.

Ive tried out some other MP modes as well, but still love freemode the best.

Cops and Crooks = a lot of fun, almost like team deathmatch but has a real point to it instead of just killing

Mafia = This is fun,.. just about like singleplayer mode, but with lots of other people working towards the same goal.

Race = just what it says,... not much fun for me though

Thats all I've tried so far,.. who else can chime in and give thoughts on modes?

I just order my game from gogamer.com

It seems I should be able to play it on Higher settings and still be fine with the FPS. I am not into multiplayer gaming but I have played this on PS3 and seems like something I will really like now.

Does the PC version's mutiplayer blow as hard as the 360 version?

I waited for the PC version to come out so I never played it on the 360. So far MP is fun on PC, but I haven't tried all the different modes.

I played turf wars last night, and enojyed it as well. However I was on a dumb team of idiots, who had no strategy at all. With a handful of friends on a server, it could be a fun mode.

I haven't even touched MP yet. Still polishing off the SP. But I will definitely check it out.
