I imagine I'll play it like I did the Saints Row Games, a gamepad for driving\flying and a keyboard & mouse for shooting.

I think that's the way to go, especially since they added first person mode. On foot, KBM COD-style, in a car, third person with a controller; best of both worlds. Swapping might get annoying, and I probably will just use a controller when running it on my TV, but it's nice to have options.

Welp. I wasn't planning on buying GTAV anytime soon, but today I was out running some errands and I randomly got an email on my phone. Turns out one of my friends gifted me the game on Steam. I guess I know what I'm playing come Monday.

Really? Me too! Guess I know what I'm playing come Monday.

You don't need your copy... (Jedi mind trick) your current games list is all you need right now. Forward the gift to me... wink nudge

Just wondering: If I buy the DVD version, the game will still have to be installed on Steam, right? So does that mean that it will receive automatic updates through Steam?

No. DVD version will be updated via Rockstar itself and will have nothing to do with Steam. Just like GTA 4 and Max Payne 3 PC DVD.

You have good friends because I would never gift a $60 game to any of my friends. I'd gift them a job application if needed but that's about it.

You're that strapped for cash that you can't buy a friend a game? Perhaps you should gift yourself a job application.

A lot of people like to lie.

Why would I lie about people gifting me stuff? Not like I'd be ashamed of buying GTA5 on my own. 😛 I definitely owe him now though.

What does that have to do with having money? I'm not strapped at all.

$60 may or may not be a lot of money depending on who you are. IMO, if you have close friend, and you know there's a new game they want to play, and you're in somewhat in a giving-type of mood, spending $60 on them isn't really that inconceivable.

Guys is it true we will be able to play tommorow? EVen though it says release is not until Tuesday?

Correct. It releases globally at midnight British standard time, which in US time translates to 7:00 PM eastern, 6 central, 5 mountain, etc, etc.
