I hope this thread remains civil here as it doesn't seem to go well at other places. Main question is at the end, everything is backstory.

I was playing GTA 5 online a couple of nights ago with some friends. One was dropped from the session. At first we just thought it was a typical connection issue that pops up far too often. A moment latter he tells us on discord that he's gotten a message that he has been suspended for a month and account stats reset. They don't say why. They also didn't say why in the e-mail he got.

Now i know most people tend to lean towards, "well the fucking cheater deserves it" and to that all i can say is i really don't believe he's used modes/cheats on his account. He doesn't ever remember receiving any dropped money from a moder. We got the game at around the same time if i remember right, i drug my feet until it was on sell a while back. He's got more hours in the game than i do. (i don't remember how many and his stats have already been wiped) He was around 23x something rank. He's spent a LOT of time grinding for money. He and three others were recently working on a criminal mastermind heist achievement.

We don't know why and rockstar doesn't seem to have an appeal process and will not tell him anything about it. He put in a ticket and get a couple or copy past responses. He apparently sent them some information, not sure if he was asked for it or he sent it trying to show he wasn't cheating. But their response was that "you have 3rd party programs installed" and they seem to think he's playing on a playstaiton. Now i'm not sure if he submitted the ticket to the wrong place or if they care that little as to not actually look at his account and verify it's on PC. He may have used to play on playstation before the PC, i didn't think to ask until just now. I've heard other people say they transfered their stats from their PS account over to PC when they switched to PC, but i'm not sure. I don't have any game console from the past decade.

So my question to you folks, has anyone here experienced this or know anyone that has and got their stats back? Any way to contact them and actually talk to them? He's trying twiter and reddit. Reddit seems to have auto removed his post. I'm thinking about creating a twiter account, but i don't think retweeting it matters as i would have no followers.

Thanks

This is why, we need "virtual property Court", like Small Claims Court, but over virtual property. Held in a REAL court-room, etc.

This sort of uni-lateral online corporate censorship, "ghosting", and virtual property confiscation, often done arbitrarily, and without recourse, either by some sort of moderation staff, or by algorithm, is antithetical to our Democratic ideals.

It's a Techno-theocracy, with these companies. It's pure BS. We need Due Process, for virtual goods and places and items, just as much as real places and items.

This is the typical behavior companies take when their system flags someone as a modder or cheater. There's nothing you can do about it either.

Most companies veered away from this auto-detect system because legitimate third-party programs were being mistaken as hacks and getting people banned. I had an account suspended because they said I had an auto-clicker. I did have one but I used it on a different game to upgrade equipment since I didn't enjoy clicking over 500 times (not an exaggeration) when I'd save up equipment to upgrade. So you have auto-detect systems that don't work 100% as intended on top of a massive company like Rockstar who doesn't give a damn about singular customers.

Bottom line is that your buddy is likely screwed for a while. I haven't ever read about someone getting locked and then unlocked. Every single thread/post/rant/review I've read about someone getting their account banned was never resolved in favor of the account holder and that stretches across PC, PS3, and PS4 platforms.
