when GTA 4 wouldnt work with my Saitek cyborg and i realized it was designed primarily for 360gamepad...well after weeks i finally gave up. i hate KB/mouse with this game so i bought a wireless 360 gamepad.

installed the drivers, connected reciever. Gamepad works fine (though its in dire need of some deadzone) but does nothing in GTA 4.
not 1 button does anything ingame.

can someone help me?

Vista x64
latest gamepad driver used
latest gta 4 patch used.
latest DX installed..well NOV version installed

the wireless controller works for me, same OS and everything else...

do the buttons work in Control Panel-->Game Controllers-->Properties?

There has been games in the past that didn't have the wireless controller support. I believe The Godfather was one of those games. Maybe GTA 4 is the same way.

My original S controller works for this game. I'm using racer-S hack emulating xbox 360 controller though.

tried that with my saitek. didnt work correctly. left analogue worked camera up/down and right did left right. LT/RT did 2 different things at once....horrid.

i couldnt program saitek software cause that caused each button to do two things at once...like run/jump at the same time. no way to map the gamepad ingame and thats the problem, its preconfigured for 360 and no clue why emulator didnt work right, i did it correctly but it was only tested for a speciifc pad, probably works with some and not others
