Wrong forum? Two of these games are exclusive to consoles.

At any rate, I'd say F1 2010.

If GT5 looks better than F1 on pc, and does 60fps@1080p, i'll be impressed.

Aren't most of the games capped at 30 fps@ 720p?

Not many console games run at 1080p natively but there are a ton of them that run at 60 fps. GT5 is supposed to run at 60 fps although it will occasionally drop below that. It's not capped at 30 fps though.

It won't. People seem to make the mistake of comparing the screenshots from photo mode in GT5 (Which is basically pre-rendered), the rain effects in F1 2010 together with the subtle use of motion blur and full resolution post processing in DX11 will mean GT5 won't compare. Dirt 2 is just as good looking if not better than F1 2010. The damage in Dirt2 is second to none.

Most of the cars in GT5 are standard cars where to polygon count is pretty low even in photo mode. Not sure if GT5 will be 720p, but it probably will be.

Right this second F1 2010 has the most realistic graphics. That being said, once GT5 is released it will likely be pushed down to second place :).

Graphics wise, Test Drive Unlimited 2 is supposed to be the best. We will have to wait.

But they've already admitted the physics are going to be the same as TDU, which is far inferior to most everything else.

If GT5 Prologue is any indicator, it's going to lose to PC version of F1 or Dirt2 by a wide margin in the graphic department. 720p without AA really bugs me on a big screen 1080p tv. It'll still looks good, and I'll still buy it, but it's just not fair to compare the graphics of PS3/XB360 to current PC hardwares.

I was about to say that, how could anything match the graphics of a top pc!!!

Yeah, im surprised at all the people saying it. Its that bloody photo mode. I still can't wait to play it though. I'll have to get a PS3 from somewhere though :hmm:

Prologue was 1080p. At least according to the box. Don't have a full HD TV so I can't test this for myself. Mind you, I think it still holds up. Dirt 2 uses DirectX 11 so it's got access to some additional eye candy.

My friend has been telling me GT5 is going to be 1080p and run 60fps, "most of the time". Didn't ask where he was getting this info, and personally I do find it hard to believe. Had my ps3 for a couple weeks, so far haven't played anything that has been 1080p, and the 720p games do have slow down in areas.

I do need to revisit Dirt 2 though, was fun and looked amazing. Came with my HD5870 last year. Only had a mouse/kb at the time :(. Now I've added G27 + playseat + 58" plasma and 5.1 surround sound, but been playing F1 and NFS games :D.

The box I think list the output. Like Forza3 also says 1080p on the box, but its just 720p upscaled. The Devs said they chose 720p with 60FPS instead of 1080p at 30FPS.

/facepalm

Ignorance is bliss.

And what is that suppose to mean? They are pulling the same stunts as with GT4, GT4 ran in either 480p or 1080i (again upscaled), but in photo mode, the game was rendered at 1280x960 with masses of AA. Which is what they released to the public. It didnt look anything like the ingame graphics. Maybe the menu graphics, but not ingame graphics.
Have a look at the video where Vettel drives the X1, its not anything special.

Granted, I think GT5 will looks much better than Forza 3, but it wont come close to F1 2010 running at 1920x1080 with 8xAA in DX11 with everything turned up (which is how I play it). That just won't happen. In photo mode maybe.

I played GT5P from PS3 and Test Drive Unlimited from my htpc on the same 46" 1080p TV. I was quite disappointed at the GT5P graphics compare to TDU running at 1080p w/AA, and TDU was a pretty old game. There's no way GT5P is 1080P during gameplay, the edges in objects are so rough compare to anything I play on PC it bothers me. It's not about Dx11 since my 4870 can't do Dx11, it's about the smoothness of 3D objects and the higher resolution textures. GT5P may look fantastic on small Youtube videos, but on a large screen tv it lacks behind PC racing games by a considerable margin graphics wise.

TDU actually looks good. SSAA makes that game look really nice.

Most of people here already have GT5.
Does F1 still hold the title as best looking graphics car game in any platform?

Of course, console's are based on 5+yr old hardware. There is ZERO reason for anyone to compare graphics. GT5 looks awesome for a console game and I'm currently playing it but there is no need to compare the graphics of console games to PC games
