If GT5 looks better than F1 on pc, and does 60fps@1080p, i'll be impressed.
Aren't most of the games capped at 30 fps@ 720p?

gt5 isnt out, but im excited to hear they got top gear track in it.
still debating if i should get ps3 just for that.
It'll still looks good, and I'll still buy it, but it's just not fair to compare the graphics of PS3/XB360 to current PC hardwares.
I was about to say that, how could anything match the graphics of a top pc!!!
If GT5 Prologue is any indicator, it's going to lose to PC version of F1 or Dirt2 by a wide margin in the graphic department. 720p without AA really bugs me on a big screen 1080p tv. It won't. People seem to make the mistake of comparing the screenshots from photo mode in GT5 (Which is basically pre-rendered), the rain effects in F1 2010 together with the subtle use of motion blur and full resolution post processing in DX11 will mean GT5 won't compare. Dirt 2 is just as good looking if not better than F1 2010. The damage in Dirt2 is second to none.
Most of the cars in GT5 are standard cars where to polygon count is pretty low even in photo mode. Not sure if GT5 will be 720p, but it probably will be.

Prologue was 1080p. At least according to the box. Don't have a full HD TV so I can't test this for myself. Mind you, I think it still holds up. Dirt 2 uses DirectX 11 so it's got access to some additional eye candy.
/facepalm
Ignorance is bliss.

I played GT5P from PS3 and Test Drive Unlimited from my htpc on the same 46" 1080p TV. I was quite disappointed at the GT5P graphics compare to TDU running at 1080p w/AA, and TDU was a pretty old game. There's no way GT5P is 1080P during gameplay, the edges in objects are so rough compare to anything I play on PC it bothers me. It's not about Dx11 since my 4870 can't do Dx11, it's about the smoothness of 3D objects and the higher resolution textures. GT5P may look fantastic on small Youtube videos, but on a large screen tv it lacks behind PC racing games by a considerable margin graphics wise.
Most of people here already have GT5.
Does F1 still hold the title as best looking graphics car game in any platform?
Of course, console's are based on 5+yr old hardware. There is ZERO reason for anyone to compare graphics. GT5 looks awesome for a console game and I'm currently playing it but there is no need to compare the graphics of console games to PC games
