I'm happy with the update. I wish the non open top cars had gotten a real interior rather than the silhouette, but it's still better than bumper cam. The physics feel a bit better, my wheel seems to communicate the road a bit more realistically through the force feedback. The endurance save feature is awesome. Load times are decreased significantly...they partially obscured the load times by showing the track and race menu more quickly but still loading in the background, but it still faster overall.

I'm also stoked about the first DLC pack...Spa will be awesome and I'm happy that there's another karting track and 3 new karts. I have karts in real life, so I was really hoping that more kart stuff would make it in. Now we need a shifter kart.

I haven't spent a ton of time on Forza, but the time I have spent on it I wasn't impressed with the physics. Felt more...arcadey to me. Not that GT is the be all end all, but I feel that it does a better job of making me feel like I'm driving and not like I'm "driving". The menu system is top notch however, GT does leave something to be desired there...kinda Applish, looks amazing but functionality is sometimes impeded in favor of design.

If the physics engine is up to snuff on F4, I'll be picking up a 360...if it's the same as the other titles, I'll stick to GT5 for my console racing needs.

All I wanted is to drive the Porsche Carrera GT. Unfortunately, neither the GT5 nor Forza 4 gives me that option. I will seriously buy a Xbox 360 if Forza 4 can pull that off.

GT5 was even inferior to Forza 3 so yeah probably.

If you play a racing simulator for an experience as close to the real thing as possible then Forza 3 is incapable of delivering a better experience than GT5. If you play a racing simulator to get close to the real thing but not forget that the overall presentation is still king, despite how unrealistic it may be/feel, then forza is king.

Having both, and also being a part of a racing team irl (i am a grease monkey) then I'd say all things being equal (Fanatec wheels etc) then GT5 is as close as it gets. Forza 4 is not likely to change that in the racing department. I've seen no improvement in the racing formula albeit the game is even smoother than the 3rd.
