Real limited budget. Got new 24" monitor and my old card doesn't seem up to the task. Imagaes aren't sharp enough. Video a little blurry. Icons a little blurry. Old card EVGA GEforce 7300/se 7200gs. Kids do light gaming. I will watch videos, tv, streaming etc.. Frys has 2 cards on sale for my limited budget. EVGA GT220 1gb ddr3 and XFX Radeon 4650 512mb. Both wind up being around 50- after rebates and with tax. Both normally retail there for around 80-. I know this is low end for this forum but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like the old card might not be a dual-link DVI (all of the new cards listed above are). Without dual-link DVI, you probably can't run 1920x1200 or 1920x1080, the two resolutions that are likely to be your maximum/native on the new screen. Running a lower res almost invariably causes things to be fuzzy.

Don't know if its dual link. Everything indicates its running in native resolution 1920x1080. Tried a different dvi cable. No luck. Guy at Frys claimed the card could not handle the monitor properly?

4650. Better yet, a 4670 from newegg for about the same price.

Cheapest 4670 I can find on newegg is about $70. Where do you see one for $50?

I'm guessing if the budget is really that important he can't go that high.
