Hmm, memory is already maxed out right now, lets see how far they can push up shader and core...

So its claiming 602/1512/1107...

Right now 670/1458/1250 is out (actually there are faster models) but its only about 5% faster than stock GTX...

Given how the GTX scales...you'd need about 2000 shader to be at the same performance level of 4870X2...core would also need a significant boost.

With stock cooling 2000 shader would probably catch on fire...

nvidia would be better off cramming 300+ SPs on this thing then minor increases on the clock rate.

This was never going to be a large increase, it won't be dethroning the 4870X2 anytime soon- the main reason for a 55nm GT200 is to improve temps, power and perhaps solve some of the QA issues that has plagued many GTX280s, the extra speed increases are a bonus.

Ironically, the biggest news about Nvidia's GT200B/55nm chips will be the resulting price cuts that AMD makes on the Radeon 4800s and the release of the Radeon 4400 and 4600 series.

This doesn't look like much of a boost at all. As someone said earlier, many of the current factory overclocked 280s will defeat this card.
