GT-R vs Veyron

The McLaren vs Veyron that Top Gear did was way better - go McLaren!

I'd still take the GT-R and pocket the ~$920,000 difference.

I would too, and I hate Nissans. The GT-R, imo has a better looking exterior, and one of the finest interiors I've ever seen. Plus the Veyron just can't be worth all that money.

Yea, i'd probably keep the money too..

But, watching the Veyron catch back up after giving the gtr quite a rolling lead was pretty nice

Honestly, I wouldn't get either one. To me, the GT-R provides exceptional performance for the price but it's overly overhyped.

gtr hangs in there for a fraction of the price. of course the veyron is ludicrous, but that vid shows just how good the gtr is

I agree, the GT-R is overhyped, but the pure hatred of it in certain circles is also pretty ridiculous.

Take it a step further, I'd just get a CTS-V and pocket an additional $20K over the GT-R. I drive by the Caddy dealership every morning, they have a shiny white one sitting on the lot.
However, since I'm not allowed to go wot in my WRX with my GF in the car(without getting slapped or yelled at), I think getting a CTS-V would just exacerbate my problems. :brokenheart:

Reverse for me. Shell out another $20K to go for a ZR1.

Nissan GT-R has about half a dozen times, the best of which being 7:26.70. The Bugatti Veyron has a 7:40.

You guys are funny. Keep the money and get a GT-R. Those two cars are not in the same class.

It's like saying, oh I won't get that Rolls Royce, I'll just get the Lexus because It's cheaper.

The Veyron is a supercar and one of (if not the) fastest production cars ever. It's more of a status symbol than anything. A guy who can blow 1 million on a car, isn't worried about saving $900,000 in cash. At that price, they could buy both and not worry about the extra 80k in cash.

I think the Veyron is bland, boring, overdone, and overplayed. It's just *yawn*, I don't care if it does 400 mph and 0-100 in 2 seconds and can take you to the moon.

It's like obsessing over a .50 BMG rifle as the ultimate gun ever and ignoring or downplaying everything else as inferior. You miss out on a whole lot more and much cooler toys with that mindset.

If I had the money, yeah of course I would buy one just to say I had one. But a car like the GT-R is much more interesting to me.

And it's not the fastest car in the world anymore, it was beaten by a car with 20% more horsepower with half the cylinders, half the turbos, half the valves per cylinder, 1 cam and 16 pushrods, and 3/4ths the displacement. Granted you probably can't do a line of coke off the dash while getting a blow job at 250 mph like you could in the Veyron.

The fvck. Get a new GF.
Snoozer video with uninspired camera work. I honestly don't think they could have shot it any worse.
This. Fvcking disastrous camera work.

What production car beat the Veyron? I have no heard about that, sounds interesting!

I'd say youre in the minority for thinking the Veyron is "yawn" lol.

I agree with him, the car is ugly to me and as you admit, it's more of a showpiece than anything else. I wouldn't call it a super car in the traditional sense.

I could have 10 times the fun in a GT-R or a 911 or an F430. In fact, I could own all 3 and maybe a Lambo too for the same price.

"The Veyron is not a super car in the traditional sense"? What else would be categorized as a 'super car'? It's definitely not just a showpiece as it handed the GT-R its ass in the video. Yes, its expensive and it sells for a lot less for what its worth but if that isn't a super car, I don't know what is.

To me a super car is a race car that's street legal. The Veyron is a technological luxo boat with 1,000hp.

Opinions are like.....

😀

The veyron is many things, but it is first and foremost an exotic, tech and power-greedy monstrosity of sound and likely-fragility (would it stand up to a decent career of being run hard? Probably not, but I imagine no exotic really can). It claims to be all power and speed and is that. If nothing else, four turbos hint that it engorges on excess, not to mention its price tag.

It is:

Very expensive
Very Fast
Very impractical

And thus I am sure it is a success by its designers' standards.
